I developed Synaptic.TV after finishing CEGEP / College in 2003 to autonomously publish my short films and short films of friends. Having studied Multimedia Integration there also were Flash games, a link page imitating fark.com, movie reviews, wallpapers and a full blown social website with profiles like a cheap Facebook. It was all over the place and even if you can see some of that content still on the site, with time the focus went back to the short films, my main passion, and letting people easily download the source files.

I am Olivier Bonenfant and all my short films are made under the label Synaptic.TV since 2003.

My passion for the camera started when I was 8 years old with my first 20 minute film. Not only was it featuring time travel, cyborgs and knife fights, I went as far as doing a remake of the same film when I was 13 years old. That remake had a running time of 1 hour and 58 minutes. These two films were already showing my tendency for weird and mysterious stories mixed with over the top situations/action. In CEGEP/University I got a Digital 8 camera and got back to wannabe film-making and about 15 new short films were produced. So it's on cheap special effects and an overdose of explosions that I climbed the ladder the amateur film-making publishing my work on this site and at various fests and contests. Professionally, I am a VFX artist and mographer and I worked for Ubisoft Montreal, for TQS, a TV channel in Quebec, as a director and creating spots on giant screens for clients like Dreamworks, 20th Century Fox, Sony BMG, Sony Playstation, Universal Music, L'Oreal, Parasuco, etc.. These days I'm based in Australia and continued to make short films part of the Kino Movement with the local group Filmonik Melbourne.

It's really without pretension that my work is here. The real need being to communicate, learn, entertain and try to produce and offer something unusual in the saturated internet.

Some time in 2004.
